… and things are only getting shadier. The ladies of Fifth Harmony went on one of the biggest talk shows in the world, Good Morning America, to address their controversial VMAs intro head on. ICYMI, the ladies started out their performance at the 2017 VMAs with the silhouette of a fifth member, shortly before literally throwing the figure off stage. While fans immediately speculated that the ladies were shading their former bandmate Camila Cabello, it wasn’t until this morning that 5H released their statement. Here’s what they said:

Ally Brooke addressed the issue head on. “We get asked all the time if we’re getting a fifth member and wanted to show the world in an artistic way that hey, the four of us are Fifth Harmony and we’re stronger and better than we’ve ever been.” Welp, enough said! It seems like the girls are sick and tired of everyone wondering if there’ll be a replacement for Camila. Ally cleared up that they don’t need a new fifth member to still be Fifth Harmony.

But Ally took the message into a positive direction. “And honestly it was such a monumental moment for us. We were at the VMAs, we had rain, we had the splits. We had a mic drop,” she gushed. TBH, the shade was such a small moment in the performance — the majority of it was Normani, Lauren, Ally and Dinah doing what they do best, and that’s slaying the stage. This was only one of many 4-person performances to come from the group, especially taking into consideration that they just released their first album without Camila! So it looks like there’ll be a lot more where this came from.

We’ve been rewatching the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video ever since it came out. There are so many amazing elements to the video — and one of our favorites has to be Todrick Hall’s dance cameo. Everyone knows that Todrick Hall and Taylor Swift are total besties. But did you know that Taylor made Todrick keep a huge secret? He spilled all about it:

“It was the hardest secret ever to keep!” Todrick blurted out. We can imagine! Just think about being the star of Taylor Swift’s brand new music video and not being able to tell a soul until it came out. “I didn’t even tell people that were very, very close to me; my own family didn’t know.” Wow, can you imagine having this type of epic news and not even being able to tell your parents?

Todrick had to keep the video to himself for three whole months. That’s right — the video was shot way back in May! We can’t believe how hush-hush the entire video spectacle was kept. That is seriously impressive.

Just because Taylor Swift swore Todrick to secrecy doesn’t mean there’s any bad blood. “I know how I am as an artist and when I’m creating stuff, even if it’s just on my YouTube channel, I don’t want anyone to tell anything, I don’t want anybody to post a Snapchat or a picture,” Todrick related.

Todrick totally admires the secrecy behind Taylor’s “LWYMMD” video. “I think it speaks volumes of what type of a person Taylor is as a human being, as an artist, that she was able to get all of these people on a set, shoot an epic — what I don’t even want to call a music video because it’s more of a movie at this point — and get them to not say anything,” he said.

We could literally listen to Fifth Harmony’s new album Fifth Harmony all day long. And it turns out that Ally, Lauren, Dinah and Normani could as well! The babes recently spilled to Billboard that they listen to their new music just as much as we do. Here’s what they revealed.

“We have our own music on repeat, which never happens,” Ally Brooke admitted.

Normani “It’s such a fulfilling feeling as an artist to be able to put something out that you genuinely do believe in, and it be received so well,”
“just for us, internally, as artists, we haven’t been able to create and do this and share, you know, what’s really on our minds or what’s really in our hearts for so long. We’ve always had the ideas but I think that it was just a matter of gaining respect and kind of proving ourselves, which we’ve definitely done, and we worked our ass off for. So I think that it’s really, really nice to kind of gain that respect from the people that work around us.”

“And it makes the process way more fun, to be honest,” Lauren said. “All the press, and all the sleepless nights, and all of the touring, and creative process — like, all of it, is so much more fun when you actually like your music. [Laughs.] You know what I mean?”

This is a major deal — not only is this one of the first major instances of a K-Pop group releasing a beauty line, but it’s also one of the first times we’ve seen artists take on the K-Beauty world! ICYMI, K-Beauty has a cult-like following and for a good reason. Their products tend to be super skin friendly, so not only do they make you look great but they’re also amazing for your skin.

Recently, Taylor Swift has been kept away from the world in total silence while preparing to unveil her new album Reputation. Because of this, we haven’t had many glimpses into Taylor’s personal life the way she used to give us… that is, up until now. Through her partnership with AT&T, Taylor Swift has been releasing little teasers for her Taylor Swift NOW content that have shown her doing typical Taylor things like eating cookie dough and hanging out with her cats. The best part of all this was getting an up close and personal view at the things Taylor says to Olivia.

Every pet owner knows how important it is to have an entire anthology of insanely cute things to call your pet whenever they do something particularly adorable. But leave it to Taylor to have the absolute cutest pet names for her cat Olivia! In the clip, Taylor cuddles Olivia while showering her with nicknames. “Are you a saber-toothed tiger cub? Are you my baby wolverine? Are you the princess of meowtown? Are you just a melting snowman? Are you just a sloth? Are you a little unicorn kitty cat? This extraordinary story was totally different than our average day in class. These are five times Riverdale was nothing like your regular high school:

A Murder Surrounds Your School: The first episode of Riverdale drew you in with an immediate murder mystery. This mystery rocked the town with love affairs, intense connections and scary coincidences. Although this mystery finds itself full circle, it seems to never end the secrets in this haunted town.

Archie Was At Your School: Archie is the jock hottie every girl fell for after watching the show. Not only is he a super sweet guy, he has a ton of other talents. The singing, guitar playing football player made us swoon over and over again throughout season one. It’s no surprise every girl in Riverdale High School was absolutely obsessed with him.

A Designated Hang Out Diner: Pop’s diner is the coolest hang out spot we have ever seen on a high school teen drama. This scenery is where love and trouble starts, making it the central hub of the town. Plus, Pop’s chocolate milkshakes topped with whip cream and a cherry looks way too delicious to pass up.

Everyone Dresses In Fabulous Retro Attire: The fashion from the hit TV show was the first thing we noticed. Not only are the girls of RHS dressed in mixes of retro and modern attire, but the boys like Archie have a sense of style we can’t get over. We absolutely adore seeing a 50s trend throughout the makeup, fashion and scenery in the show.

Everyone Can Sing Like An Angel: Unless you are attending an elite performing arts high school, there is no way every single person in your friend group sings like Adele. Apparently in Riverdale, everyone can sing any song perfectly. From the talented Archie performing original songs to Betty Cooper singing a simple tune, everyone needs a record deal at RHS.

That’s right, there’s a Dove Cameron single waiting for us to fangirl over. But, Dove isn’t able to reveal any details about the completed song yet for one very important reason. “single news coming v soon. jus don’t wanna promise DETAILS until i can absolutely/safely/securely guarantee something y’all can hang onto,” Dove tweeted to her fans. UM, we’re freaking out! We can’t believe that Dove has a song that’s ready for her fans to listen to and will be announcing more information super soon. This is seriously the best news ever. Even though Dove didn’t reveal any official release date, knowing that she’s going to tell us ASAP is enough for us.

Then, Dove proceeded to celebrate in the most Dove-esque way ever. “that being said: boutta turn off all my lights in my trailer, put my speakers on bass mode, &play my first single so loud my ears blow out,” she wrote. AHH! This is huge news. Niall’s debut album is sure to be the biggest record of 2017. Not to mention, the news of his album came shortly before the news of his Flicker World Tour! ICYMI, Maren Morris is opening for Niall on tour — can we perhaps expect to watch them collab on “Seeing Blind” live onstage? We sure hope so. The song has yet to be released but we’re already positive that it’s amazing.

Here at Popmania, we’re all about boybands. We’ve been crushing on some of them since the early 90’s and we’re discovering new favorites all the time. One of them happens to be the YouTube cover cuties, New Hope Club. They’ve been killing the game with covers of our favorite songs!

It was hard to narrow down to such a short list when we love them all, but we did it just for you. Here are our favorite covers by New Hope Club:

“Sign of The Times”- Harry Styles: Not only is this one our favorite, it’s also their most popular video on their channel and it’s obvious why. We’re glad we aren’t the only ones who think so! Harry’s song is already amazing but New Hope Club made us fall in love with the song all over again.

“Shape of You”- Ed Sheeran: This has been one of our favorite songs since it came out, and it’s still on repeat in our office! It came as no surprise when the boys did a cover of this song of course, but we have to say – it’s one of the best we’ve ever heard.

“Hands” (feat. Sabrina Carpenter)- Mike Perry: We absolutely adore Sabrina Carpenter at Popmania and we know you do too! So when they covered Mike Perry’s song featuring her, it was only right to have Sab join in. We are LIVING for this.

“Look What You Made Me D0”- Taylor Swift: We fell in love when Taylor did it, but we fell in LOVE when NHC did it again. We don’t know which we like better, the cover or the original. We hope they cover every song on Reputation when it comes out.

“Heartshaped Box”- Nirvana: This is their very first post they ever added to their YouTube channel and it of course made the cut for one of our favorites!

There was a major void left in our hearts after Pretty Little Liars ended earlier this year. For seven amazing seasons we followed the liars through thick and thin. Not being able to catch up on PLL every week has been a major lifestyle change. So we’re beyond excited to announce some breaking news — there will officially be a Pretty Little Liars spinoff series! Here’s what to know so far:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Freeform has officially picked up a Pretty Little Liars spinoff from the legendary showrunner Marlene King along with the series author Sara Shepard. The series will be called The Perfectionists and PLL alums Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish have already signed on to star in the series as their characters Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal. So. Much. YES.

The show will be set in the town of Beacon Heights, a perfect suburb that is turned upside down by the town’s first ever murder. With Marlene King behind the show, we’re positive that it’ll be jam packed with drama and intrigue. One thing’s for certain — it’s going to be good.

So far Sasha and Janel are the only characters from PLL signed on to be in The Perfectionists, but you never know what other familiar faces may pop up! Considering that the spinoff will tie into Pretty Little Liars, that leaves a lot of room for our other favorite liars to make cameos.

It has yet to be revealed when we can expect to binge watch The Perfectionists on our couches. We’ll keep you posted on every update as we get them, Popmaniacs.

We guess you could say we have a slight girl crush on Shadowhunters star Emeraude Toubia… and by “slight girl crush” we actually mean full blown obsession. We can’t imagine watching Shadowhunters with anyone else playing Isabelle Lightwood. Em is a total badass babe in her role, from her fierce costuming to her insane moves. So needless to say we completely freaked out when Em gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how she gets ready for filming. Shadowhunters fans, you guys *need* to see this.

Emeraude took over the Shadowhunters Twitter account so that fans could get ready with her. If you’ve ever wondered how Emeraude hits the red carpet with shoulder length hair and then shows up on television with long locks, we have the answer. The actress shared a video on Twitter of her hair transformation and it’s blowing our minds. Even though the sped-up video is less than a minute long, this process looks extensive. Mini hair extensions are placed all throughout Em’s head so that her shoulder length hair is virtually unrecognizable. So Popmaniacs, if you’re looking to dress up as Isabelle Lightwood for Halloween this year, you might want to take notes.

Shadowhunters has some of the best costuming in television right now. All of the show’s stars are constantly posting behind-the-scenes shots of how the costume and makeup team creates things like their supernatural features or their intense battle wounds. We’re constantly amazed by the amount of talent on that show.

Maddie Ziegler is a total pro on set. The babe has been a professional dancer for most of her life and has done everything from dance in Grammy nominated videos to star in feature length films. When it comes to being in front of the camera, Maddie is about as experienced as it gets. But that’s not to say that the dancer/actress/author/designer doesn’t still struggle on set. Even though she makes it look so easy, sometimes Maddie’s struggling more than we realize! The Dance Moms alum recently opened up about starring in Sia’s latest music video “Rainbow” and the biggest challenge while filming.

Even though you’d never know just from watching Maddie dance, she was majorly uncomfortable on set. In an interview with Billboard, the dancer talked about her BTS problem. “I was hanging from a harness. … The first time I was in it, I was spinning and spinning, and I got super, super dizzy in rehearsals. But once it came to the filming day, it was so much fun. And it is a little uncomfortable — it’s really tight so you don’t fall, but I did love doing it. And it was such a cool experience, and I would definitely do a harness again,” Mad told them.

We can all learn something from how Maddie handled this situation. When she first had to wear the harness, it was ultra uncomfortable and a huge obstacle. But she kept pushing through and then the next time she wore it loved it! In fact, Maddie loved the experience so much that she said she’d totally do it again. We’re definitely going to channel Maddie the next time we’re faced with an obstacle that seems impossible.
